Dr. Tapnio is an outstanding choice for your dental implants treatment. He offers comprehensive services, including advanced preparatory surgeries. His innovative surgical treatment can also speed your recovery. Thanks to his expert care, you will undergo a minimal discomfort procedure with predictable results.

Dental Implants: An Overview

If you have lost one or more teeth, you did not simply lose the teeth themselves. You also lost the dental roots, which stimulate bone growth and prevent jaw recession. Implants are small posts that will replace those roots. Dr. Tapnio will place them in your jawbone, and the biocompatible material will integrate with your bone tissue. In most cases, it will take four to six months for your jaw to heal fully. When it has done so, Dr. Tapnio will attach abutment pieces to the top of each post. These pieces will then connect to a custom-designed crown, bridge, partial denture or complete denture.

Complete Preparatory Care

If you have been missing teeth for some time, you may have suffered bone degeneration. With insufficient bone tissue, you will not have a strong base for your dental implants. However, this does not mean that you are automatically disqualified from treatment. Dr. Tapnio offers two advanced procedures to replace lost bone tissue. During a bone graft, he will use FDB harvested bone tissue, placing it over the recessed areas of your jaw. The new tissue will then fuse with your surrounding bone, creating a strong foundation for your implants. Dr. Tapino can also perform bone grafting and socket preservation following extraction. If needed, he can perform a sinus lift, raising your sinus membranes and placing bone tissue to make room for the implant(s).

Specialized Treatment for Faster Healing

During implant placement or bone grafting, Dr. Tapnio may perform PRP treatment in conjunction with the bone graft. PRP (platelet-rich plasma) aids in faster healing and tissue and bone regeneration. This procedure involves obtaining a small sample of the patient’s own blood. It is centrifuged to separate platelet growth factors from red blood cells. This material will promote healing so you will recover more quickly, and your implants will integrate with your jaw more securely. PRP is an advanced treatment, and not all oral surgeons offer this option.
Lifelike Restorations

Though your health is our primary concern, we also want you to feel great about the look of your smile. Our restorations are incredibly lifelike, made with advanced materials that offer a natural color and sparkle. The restorations will also match the shape of your teeth and the natural alignment of your bite.
