Invisalign® treatment moves teeth into optimal alignment as you wear smooth, comfortable, and nearly invisible clear aligning trays (called “aligners”) on your upper arch and lower arch of teeth. The first step is to call Smile Design to schedule an initial complimentary consultation. Our friendly receptionist will assist you making the appointment with one of our Invisalign® providers located near you. Our Invisalign® provider will evaluate your mouth, determine if Invisalign® treatment is appropriate for you, answer your questions, and quote the fee for your custom Invisalign® treatment in his or her office. You will then have the opportunity to consider this information before making a decision to accept treatment.

If you accept treatment, your Invisalign® treatment will be custom designed to create optimal tooth spacing for aesthetic appearance and an optimal bite for best chewing function. Your optimal spacing will provide you with easy access to all surfaces of your teeth for thorough brushing and flossing. As your treatment progresses, you will enjoy a more beautiful smile, visible through your aligners.

How does Invisalign® work?

You will receive a series of computer generated clear aligning trays that fit over your upper and lower teeth. The aligners are customized for your mouth, and you will wear them at least 22 hours a day. Approximately every two weeks you will replace the aligners you are wearing with the next set of aligners in your series. Each new set of aligners will move your teeth a bit more into ideal position.

Your Smile Design Invisalign® provider will review with you the details of wearing and caring for your aligners, as well as when to changes to each new set of aligners. Approximately every six weeks, you will be scheduled to visit the office so your Invisalign® provider can evaluate the progress of your treatment and determine if any adjustments should be made.

How long does Invisalign® treatment take?

Many patients complete treatment in 12-18 months. The duration of your treatment will depend on how many sets of trays will be required to align your teeth optimally and whether you wear your aligners the prescribed minimum 22 hours per day. The number of sets anticipated for your mouth will be discussed with you before you accept treatment.

What does Invisalign® cost?

The typical course of Invisalign® treatment does not cost more than traditional braces. The cost of your treatment will be based on the complexity of your case, how long your treatment will take, and your orthodontic insurance coverage.
