Anti-Anxiety, Painless Dentistry
At Brookside Family Dental in Tampa, FL, we promise to make you comfortable from the moment you call. Our dentist, Scott Lampert, D.M.D., and his team know that millions of children, teens, and adults fear the dentist, and it’s not their fault.
It’s our mission to help you have an exceptional experience—full of friendliness, kindness and understanding. We strive every day for every patient to provide the compassion, gentleness, and comfort measures that will make you feel at home.
Dr. Lampert prides himself in performing painless dentistry and focuses on making sure he lives up to this reputation. We offer guidance and sedation options to ease your nerves and enable you to receive the treatment you need.
There are three non-medical steps we can take to minimize your anxiety:
- Practice breathing relaxation techniques
- Establish non-verbal signals with Dr. Lampert
- Take regular breaks throughout a procedure
If these are not enough to control your anxiety, medical sedation options are also available. Most commonly an anti-anxiety medication is prescribed that is taken prior to treatment. Even a small dose will ease your nerves.
Keep in mind that today’s local anesthetics are powerful. After numbing with a topical anesthetic, Dr. Lampert gently injects local anesthetic that blocks all pain.
If you experience any of the following anxiety symptoms while in our office, Dr. Lampert is medically trained to handle them in an expeditious and professional manner. Many patients experience these, and we recognize their importance.
- Nausea
- An elevated heart rate
- Sweating palms
- Crying
- Feelings of panic
- Difficulty breathing
We are not judgmental! Our goal is to get to know you, empathetically listen, and understand how we can help you have improved oral health and a confident smile.
If you have had painful or anxious dental experiences, we want to know about them. If you need time to relax and compose yourself, we’re going to let you have it.
