Porcelain Dental Veneers

At Brookside Family Dental of Tampa, FL, Dr. Scott Lampert offers a wide range of cosmetic treatments. Porcelain dental veneers are one of the most popular options because they can quickly and conservatively correct for a number of cosmetic flaws and are very durable. They can be used to correct for:

  • Tooth discoloration that does not bleach out
  • Small gaps between teeth
  • Slight misalignment of teeth
  • Cracks or chips in teeth
  • Irregularly shaped teeth
  • Worn or unusually small teeth

Veneer treatment is very simple. Dr. Lampert will examine and make records of your mouth, discuss the appropriateness of veneers for treating your smile, and discuss any alternative and additional treatments that would help you achieve your oral health and smile appearance goals. If you are a good candidate for dental veneers and ready to proceed with treatment, he will schedule a first treatment appointment. At that appointment, he will gently remove a thin layer of enamel on the front of each tooth that is to receive a veneer so there is room for the porcelain veneer to be applied. He also will take impressions of your prepared teeth to send to his preferred dental ceramist.

Dr. Scott Lampert is a highly qualified restorative dentist who has completed advanced clinical training in prosthodontics. He will communicate fully with the ceramist about the exact size, shape and color he wants each veneer to be.

After the ceramist crafts your custom veneers and sends them to our office, Dr. Lampert will have you return for a second treatment appointment. At this time, he will bond the veneers to your teeth. Once bonded in place, they will feel seamless to your tongue.

Dental porcelain provides an incredibly lifelike look. The material will be a near-perfect match to the color of your teeth and sparkle with a slight translucence like natural healthy teeth.

With proper home hygiene, regular visits with our dental hygienist, and regular dental check ups to ensure optimal oral health and function, your porcelain veneers can be expected to last indefinitely. You will care for your veneer-treated teeth at home in the same way that you care for your natural teeth: through daily brushing and flossing.

To qualify for porcelain veneers, you should have a healthy amount of dental enamel and be free of dental decay and gum disease. If Dr. Lampert examines you and determines you are not an ideal candidate for veneers, he will offer preliminary or alternative treatments that are best for your circumstances.
