A hybrid denture can be fixed on as few as four dental implants. This type of denture can completely restore your natural function and appearance.The entire process of inserting the dental implants and having the hybrid denture attached can be accomplished in the same day. And, due to the unique design of All-on-4 implants, patients can typically receive this treatment without need for costly bone or sinus grafting.

A hybrid denture is a full denture (including prosthetic teeth and gum tissue) that completely covers the ridge of bone and is firmly retained by a minimal number of dental implants. A full titanium bar supports the denture to ensure against breakage. All slippage is eliminated. Unlike removable full dentures, hybrid dentures do not cover the palate of the mouth. This means you will be able to taste and enjoy your food. Many patients forget they have a hybrid denture because it feels, functions, and looks much like a natural arch of teeth.

Both the upper and lower arch can be treated in this manner. If you have struggled with a removable full denture because it frequently slips and becomes dislodged when you speak and eat, you will be amazed at the difference!

The Advantages of All-on-4 Treatment versus a Removable Full Denture:

What to Expect when Getting a Hybrid Denture

After an initial consultation to determine if the All-on-4 treatment is right for you, impressions of your mouth will be made. Dr. Lampert will work with his expert dental lab to prepare your custom hybrid overdenture. For most patients, bone enhancement procedures will not be required prior to receiving implants. For them, the All-on-4 treatment can be accomplished at a second appointment.

The second appointment will be in the surgical suite of one of Dr. Lampert’s preferred implant surgeons, and the collaborating surgeon will place your implants. A few as four (and for some patients more) small implants will be placed in your jawbone, and your custom overdenture will be fixed on the implants all in the same visit. Appropriate measures will be taken to make sure you are comfortable and the process is painless.

After this appointment, you will be able to eat the same day, be advised to brush and floss your new teeth at least twice daily, and have regular check-ups and cleanings in our office. Your hybrid denture will look and function like real teeth.
